Events and Parties

When is the centre available?

The centre is available for hire for one off events (e.g. fundraisers) and for children’s parties up to and including the age of 14 years. Please note, we do not hire the centre out for other private parties e.g. birthday parties 15 years and above.

The centre is usually available for parties and events on Sunday afternoons (1 p.m. to 5 p.m.), and Friday and Saturday evenings (6 p.m. to 11 p.m..) This includes setting up and clearing up times.

What is the cost of hire?

On Sunday afternoons, our rate of hire is £12.50 per hour, plus £10 for public indemnity insurance [e.g. a party booked on Sunday from 1 pm to 5 pm will cost £60].  A refundable security deposit of £30 is required.  The hard court area can be booked for parking at a cost of £5 per booking

For evening parties (6pm-11pm) there is a flat rate of £100 on Friday and Saturdays, and £80 on Sundays and Bank Holidays.  This includes the public indemnity insurance and use of the hard court for car parking.  A refundable security deposit of £75 is required.

What else do I need to know?

You will be asked to fill in a hiring agreement form. Your booking is confirmed on receipt of 25% of the booking fee. You will need to pay the remainder of the fee when you collect the keys (by arrangement) and to provide a security deposit cheque. This will not be banked, but will be returned to you after the event unless there has been damage or extra cleaning required.

Are there any restrictions?

It is our policy for parties, to request that you ensure supervision at a level of one adult to every eight children and that there are no more than forty children at the party.Insurance of activities, especially the use of Bouncy castles and other higher risk activities are NOT covered by the Centre’s insurance policy and it is the responsibility of the HIRER to ensure that the provider of such activities has suitable insurance and liability cover.

What rooms and facilities can I use?

For parties you may use the social and sports areas, the cloakrooms and kitchen. There are tables and chairs available and china etc in the kitchen. The Hirer’s Handbook is available in the kitchen and we advise all hirer’s to check through this on arrival. This should tell you everything you need to know when you are in the centre.

What about keys?

Keys, along with information about entering and exiting the building, can be collected by arrangement during the week before the event.
